When you receive drastically different quotes from painters, it usually means they are fundamentally disagreeing on these three variables:
- 1Preparation DepthAre they just rolling over cracks, or fully skimming, sanding, and priming structural defects? 70% of a quality paint job is the prep.
- 2Material QualityBuilder-grade paint costs $30 a gallon. Premium scuff-resistant enamels cost $100+. Better materials last years longer.
- 3Scope & AccessVaulted ceilings, intricate trim work, and high exterior peaks require specialized equipment, scaffolding, and intense safety protocols.
Commercial Pricing
Commercial projects, multi-unit buildings, and new construction bids are calculated differently, typically relying on linear/square footage take-offs from architectural blueprints and standardized production rates.

Do you require a deposit upfront?
Yes. To secure your dates on our production calendar and procure your specific materials, we typically require a 25-30% deposit upon signing the contract. The remaining balance is only due after a final walkthrough ensures you are completely satisfied with the result.
Why is my quote so much higher/lower than another company?
Discrepancies in quotes usually come down to two things: insurance and prep work. If a quote is astonishingly low, they may be using cheap paint, skipping vital scraping/sanding, or operating without WSIB clearance and liability insurance—leaving you legally liable if they are injured on your property. Does the quote include the cost of the paint?
Yes. All estimates provided by Premier Painting are fully itemized and inclusive. The quoted price covers all labor, standard prep materials, premium paint, and equipment. There are no hidden fees or surprise invoices at the end of the job.
